Super Bowl XLIII Commercials - Best and Worst
Submitted by mulvhawk on Wed, 02/04/2009 - 04:56I have listed out a few notes on the Super Bowl commercials in a previous entry, and now will go into a little more detail with my thoughts on this year's field of entries.
In general, I was disappointed in many of the commercials that made it into the Super Bowl space. There were a few shining moments during all of the movie previews, network and cable tv plugs and the like, but they were few and far between.
The Day the Music Died
Submitted by mulvhawk on Wed, 02/04/2009 - 04:55Today marks the 50th anniversary of the Day the Music Died. On February 3rd, 1959, Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens, and the Big Bopper JP Richardson, tragically died in a plane crash after playing a show at the Surf Ballroom in Clear Lake, Iowa.
I heard about this on the way to work this morning, the radio show hosts were discussing the event and what had taken place.

Bacon Explosion is Everywhere!

I received an article yesterday from the NY Times discussing the Bacon Explosion.
Two men from the Kansas City area have developed a massive heart-unhealthy delight entitled Bacon Explosion.
