I received an article yesterday from the NY Times discussing the Bacon Explosion.

Two men from the Kansas City area have developed a massive heart-unhealthy delight entitled Bacon Explosion.

Aaron Chronister and Jason Day came up with this recipe in December 2008. It has seemed to go viral the last few days with coverage by the NY Times and several other blogs. According to Chronister's Twitter profile, CNN has contacted him as well as the Kansas City Star. There is also a wikipedia entry discussing this treat. The BBQAddicts blog has generated 16,000 links pointing to the recipe as well as 390,000 hits to the site, according to that wikipedia article. At the current time, the BBQ Addicts blog entry about the Bacon Explosion is down, likely due to such a high volume of traffic.

There is much speculation going around stating that this could be the next big recipe for Super Bowl Sunday, so we'll just have to wait and see how many heart attacks happen that day caused by this BBQ'd delight.
