Twitter: where will it go next?
The micro-blogging site known as Twitter is expanding with presence everywhere from NBA locker rooms to being on location breaking news stories as they happen.
Some people love the site and use it multiple times a day, while others despise it and think it's very pretentious. Either could be correct, depending on the mindset of the individual.
I personally like it because it is a way for me to interact with people I wouldn't normally interact with through other social sites. It's also a way to keep up with what's going on in the online marketing industry. I "follow" other online marketing experts to see what news they're following and what their thoughts may be on certain topics. I also use it as a way to stay up-to-date on trends in the industry.
Twitter is still growing and it seems to be getting more national attention. From the flair up from the Milwaukee Bucks basketball coach about Charlie Villanueva's use of Twitter at half-time of a recent NBA game, to a "tweet" breaking the news of the Turkish plane crash in February, Twitter seems to be really becoming mainstream.
I think its popularity is going to continue to grow, especially as it continues to get more and more publicity in the news outlets. I plan to continue using the micro-blogging service, getting in whatever I feel like putting out there in 140 characters or less. And I hope you do, too.
Follow me if you'd like. I can't promise that all your wildest dreams may come true if you do, but it sure couldn't hurt!
