Waterslide Extreme iPhone App

There's a new App available in the iTunes store for iPhone users based on a tv advertisement. London-based Bartle Bogle Hegarty produced a tv spot for Barclaycard and this App entitled Waterslide Extreme is based on that ad. This is the first "branded ad" that has really taken off in the iTunes store. It was the number 13 App in the Top 25 Free Apps today.

According to a recent AdAge article, "the game is based on a popular TV spot by Bartle Bogle Hegarty, London, in which an office worker strips down to his Speedo and gets on a water slide for a high-octane commute home. On the way, he uses his Barclaycard at various points to pay for groceries or train tickets.

In the iPhone game, players negotiate their way down the twists and turns of a massive urban water slide, picking up as many points as they can along the way. Players can ride the slide from a first-person or third-person perspective as either a male or a female character. The app is subtly branded with the Barclaycard logo."

I have downloaded the App and have taken the following pictures of game-play.

It reminds me a lot of the luge and bobsledding. I wonder who will come up with those Apps during the Olympics this winter?
