Traditionally speaking, Interactive Ads don't always work

Let me begin by saying that I have a friend who works for State Street, and I do on occasion ride the JO to work.

While driving to work earlier this week, I couldn't help but notice The JO #208 and the advertisement plastered on the back of the bus. "Click Here and start your business career."

What exactly are you supposed to click on?

1,000,000 followers on Twitter?

I was flipping through the radio channels while driving to work this morning, catching bits and pieces of different songs, traffic & weather reports and news updates. The common thing I heard in the news updates today was the fact that Ashton Kutcher had won.

What did he win, you might ask? It wasn't a Grammy, Emmy or an Oscar - but something a little more edgy and philanthropic.

Ashton Kutcher beat CNN in the quest for 1,000,000 followers on the ever-growing microblogging site, Twitter.

What's Next for Ads on iPhone Apps?

When you can view something for free on the internet, you can make a safe bet that there is going to be some sort of advertising supporting its freeness. I have enjoyed a free app of Mancala for the iPhone 3G for quite some time now, and am not discouraged from playing just because I may have to wait for an ad to show up in between every third game.

I have actually come to like the ads, because they've been changing over the last few months.

Where did the Monster come from?

Have you ever wondered what 704 ounces of Monster would look like? Strike that. Have you ever wondered what 704 ounces of Monster would be contained in?

Look no further, my friends. Here is an example of one way it can be contained. If someone is drinking this much Monster, though, you might want to think twice about crossing him/her.

Coke Zero says Rock Chalk!

Have you seen this Coke Zero commercial yet? Way better than their Super Bowl commercial; this one screams passion for sports. Enjoy!

I'm not quite sure why I can't post this video in here, so you'll have to go to YouTube to view it, or watch it courtesy of the American Copywriter site.

Twitter: where will it go next?

The micro-blogging site known as Twitter is expanding with presence everywhere from NBA locker rooms to being on location breaking news stories as they happen.

An Onion a day keeps the doctor away?

Not really, but it can help explain the concept and essence of Leadership.

On Thursday, I attended Part 1 or a 2 part series on Leadership through PlattForm University. The course was entitled Leadership: From the Inside Out, and was led by Steve Booth.

We began the session by identifying our own definition of leadership. Going around the room and letting the group know our definition gave the opportunity for different perspectives on leadership to be heard. Although there were many definitions, common themes began to show up.

UCEA - Social Media Strategies for Higher Education Presentation

I started out yesterday morning with the networking breakfast in one of the big lecture rooms at the UCEA conference.

After a bit, the president of UCEA began to give a presentation on the advocacy program they have launched. I followed the time on my watch and left around 8:30 to go set up the Cactus room for my presentation.

After taking a few minutes prepping the computer and connecting it to the projector, I sat down and waited for the attendees to start coming in.

UCEA Marketing Seminar

Today I had the pleasure of attending a few sessions of the 17th Annual University Continuing Education Association Marketing Seminar in Scottsdale, Arizona.

I am here to give a presentation tomorrow on Social Media Strategies for Higher Education, but had some time today in between working the booth that PlattForm has in the exhibition hall and prepping for my presentation.

Here are a few highlights of the sessions I attended:
