Downtown Kansas City

Being a resident of Downtown Kansas City definitely had its perks. Although at times there were traffic jams due to the close proximity to the Sprint Center and Power & Light District, more often than not you are at peace with the world while walking among the skyscrapers and business offices that line the streets.

Downtown living provides the ability to walk just about anywhere one would like to go, and a short drive to other venues in the area. For instance, it's a ten minute drive to the K and Arrowhead Stadium, a ten minute walk to the Sprint Center and Power & Light District, a five minute walk to the Central Library, and a ten minute drive to the hustle and bustle of the Plaza.

As new amenities such as the Cosentino's Market and new restaurants/venues continue to be added Downtown, the entertainment and convenience factors continue to increase.

Although the Kansas City Metropolitan area includes a couple million residents, the population Downtown is under 20,000. As the area continues to grow commercially, it is expected to grow residentially as well. There are many high-rise living opportunities and will likely flourish as the entire area continues to be revitalized.

Since moving to a suburb of Kansas City, I dont' get downtown as often as I would like, but it's still only a ten minute drive away. Living Downtown definitely shaped my perspective on city-living and I found it very interesting and exciting. I would definitley live in the Downtown environment, again!
